Meet Dr. Michael Kelly
Connecticut native Dr. Michael T. Kelly enjoys helping his patients realize their dreams of straight teeth and beautiful smiles. He offers advanced orthodontic care, with a treatment approach that’s tailored to each patient’s specific concerns. This ensures an efficient, comfortable experience and a finished smile that’s healthy, becoming, and fills the patient with confidence!
Education and Continuing Education
Dr. Kelly attended the University of Connecticut in the honors program for his undergraduate studies. He graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Accepted at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Kelly was awarded his Doctorate of Dental Medicine and inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Society. Also, he received the Alpha Omega award for achieving the highest academic ranking in his class.
Dr. Kelly was accepted into the orthodontic residency program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This is one of the most well-respected orthodontic residency programs in the world. Upon completion of the program, he received his Master of Science and orthodontic specialty certificate.
Since he believes that continuing education is the only way to provide patients with the most advanced care, Dr. Kelly completes many postgraduate courses each year. This ensures each patient receives the best treatment approach to create a lasting, wonderful smile. As a result of his continuing education, Dr. Kelly is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.

Personal Life
Dr. Kelly grew up in North Haven and graduated from North Haven High School. He and his wife, Dr. Gillian Kelly (the other “Dr. Kelly” in the practice), enjoy quality time with their families, especially with their three daughters - Maggie, Celia and Eliza. They also love traveling the world, swimming at Bashan Lake, and skiing at Sugarloaf. Most important, they love rooting for the UConn Huskies!
Giving Back
The Drs. Kelly strongly believe in giving back to and helping others. Together, they have donated time and expertise to local and international service projects. They have volunteered with other oral health professionals to provide dental care through the Connecticut State Dental Association’s Give Kids a Smile program. They have also volunteered with the CT Mission of Mercy, Special Olympics Special Smiles, and the Harvard Pilgrim Middletown Half Marathon.
During their studies at the University of Connecticut, the doctors participated in a dental service trip to Paraguay. There, they provided life-changing dental care to members of underserved communities.
